Spring Clean Tipton Park – Success!

Spring Clean Tipton Park was a huge success! Thanks to the 176 volunteers who braved temperatures in the mid-30s on April 7 and collected two tons of trash, planted 10 flats of lantana, mulched lots of trees and painted lines on basketball courts to Keep Dallas Beautiful. Thanks to Mayor Mike Rawlings and District 6 Council Member Omar Narvaez for joining this event and showing support for volunteer efforts in our neighborhoods. Thanks to Pinkston JrROTC who served as color guards. Thanks to sponsors – Elrod’s Cost Plus for lunch and volunteer appreciation prizes, Garbo Grabbers for trash bag holders and grabbers, Frost Bank for security underwriting and Keep America Beautiful. Thanks to exhibitors – Office of Environmental Quality, Planning and Urban Design/Neighborhood Vitality Group, Park and Recreation Department and Dallas Fire and Rescue. Special thanks to the super-volunteers who worked behind the scenes to make this event possible, then braved the cold to organize a safe, effective event building a clean, green Dallas – one neighborhood at a time.
